Apogee Software es muy conocido porque popularizo el modelo de distribución Shareware y por crear juegos como los Duke Nukem, los Commander Keen y Wolfenstein 3D.
Descripción
Apogee empezó cuando Scott Miller sacó a la venta el juego Kingdom of Kroz; el juego se vendió bastante bien y así nació Apogee. En 1991 George Broussard se unió a la compañía como co-fundador, trayendo con él algunos juegos que había publicado antes con el nombre de Micro F/X. Con la intención de crear una división para cada género, así Apogee tomó los nombres de 3D Realms y Pinball Wizards.
