Descripción

Inglaterra del Sur, 1894. En la ciudad de Plymouth el cuerpo de Sir William recientemente enterrado desaparece en extrañas circunstancias. Esta peculiar noticia no despertaría el interés público si no fuese de tratarse del propio Sir William quien fue investigado en varias ocasiones durante su vida y, aunque la policía nunca logró cargos en su contra, las leyendas acerca de crímenes sangrientos entre la gente de la ciudad relacionados con su persona alimentaban el miedo hacia el que consideraban un muerto en vida. Sólo había unos pocos que estaban dispuestos a servirle y fueron lo suficientemente valientes como para soportar el mirar su rostro sin vida. Y la mayoría de ellos huyen con horror después de su muerte y de una serie de asesinatos que le siguieron. La policía se siente impotente y no se ven capacitados para poder seguir adelante con el caso. La ciudad cae en un estado de pánico y miedo.
