Descripción
Han pasado varios siglos desde el incidente de la Mansión DeFoe. Ahora sólo quedan leyendas populares e historias olvidadas. La raza humana llega "donde ningún hombre ha llegado antes", y la invención de la tecnología de teletransporte está acelerando el programa aeroespacial. Debido a la escasez de vehículos, la Federación Terrestre promociona un nuevo programa que mejora las naves espaciales viejas y retiradas. La Mephistopheles es la primera en seguir este programa. Tripulada por seis personas, la Mephistopheles es asignada para la exploración de la galaxia Caracus. Unos días después de haber iniciado el viaje, la tripulación encuentra un armario metálico con el nombre DeFoe inscrito en él. Lo abren y no encuentran nada dentro –al menos es eso lo que piensan...
