Descripción
Waldemar the Warlock cuenta las vicisitudes de Lord Alistair Ainsworth, un autoproclamado historiador y estudioso ocultista que, en su obsesión, se traslada junto a su criado Nigel al castillo en Groldavia de Waldemar Gorobec, su objeto de estudio, un antiguo estarosta de la región.
Barbado y cruel, su profundo conocimiento de las artes de la nigromancia le llevó a convertirse en el más grande hechicero de su época hasta que, en la cúspide de su poder, justo antes de llegar al que habría sido su mayor logro, fue quemado en la hoguera por sus crímenes contra el ganado y los lácteos. Es allí, en las frías estancias que una vez se llenaron con los gritos de los groldavos, mientras escribe el final de su obra definitiva sobre Gorobec, cuando una voz procedente del retrato del nigromante situado a su espalda le cuenta a Lord Alistair la verdadera historia: el pueblo le condenó a la hoguera, pero fueron sus propios pupilos los que le traicionaron, tejiendo una conspiración para que el fin de su maestro fuera el dolor y la pira.
Le exige entonces que se convierta en la herramienta de su venganza, una opción que el atildado aristócrata podrá aceptar o rechazar, lo que abre la posibilidad de jugar dos caminos: o destruir a las fuerzas del mal o aliarse con ellas. Elegir una u otra opción llevará a puzzles y situaciones totalmente diferentes, ya sea condenar al pueblo a terribles acontecimientos o ejecutar un ritual cabalístico de exorcismo que ponga fin a la aparición de Waldemar, el brujo.
